Competition or Trackday Rover V8 High Performance Outrigger Support and Billet Post Kit.
Suitable for all Rover V8 engines including Land Rover, Range Rover, TVR, Morgan and Specials (3.5 - 5.2 litres)
These billet alloy supports are designed to prevent the end of the rocker shafts deflecting ( and breaking) on high rpm competition engines. The centre posts ie the middle 2 on each bank are billet aluminium and less prone to distortion as per the factory items.
Inspection of the rocker shaft design shows the end of each rocker arm is poorly supported and with springs rates approaching 200 lbs on full valve lift, the constant pounding can result in sheared/broken shafts. This also has serious implications for other parts such as valves and pistons on cylinder numbers 1, 7, 2 & 8.
With a "bridge" support this issue is addressed and will prevent breakage and also maintain accurate valve opening and closing events on corresponding cylinders.
These Billet Alloy supports use standard rocker shafts with sufficient clearance to enable use of the factory, aftermarket alloy or steel rocker arms.
